Monica's Bundt Cake Co. salutes and introduces its dedicated, professional baker, Michelle Milburn. Michelle joined Monica, the company's owner, in the kitchen just two months after the business opened in 2004. Together, the duo brings experience and passion to the Wichita baking community. Michelle leaves her signature on each made-from-scratch Bundt cake featuring decadent cream cheese frosting casacading down its sides.
Milburn's favorite cake to bake? "Chocolate Sour Cream," she said. Not only is it Milburn's personal favorite, but it also is the year-round favorite of Monica's customers. In fact, the Chocolate Sour Cream Bundt Cake surpasses all other flavors in sales.
One of Monica's Bundt Cake's most beautifully presented cakes, however, is the December Flavor-of-the-Month: Yum Rum Bundt. "The combination of maraschino cherries, pecans and butter rum glaze makes it not only a very pretty cake, but a delicious tasting cake as well," said Milburn.
With Milburn's assistance, Monica's Bundt Cake Co. has been able to offer a wide variety of baked goods to satisfy Wichita's sweet tooth. The baked-fresh menu includes CinnaBundts, which are similar to cinnamon buns and the Bundt Runt, which features Bundt cupcakes. There are even Vegan Bundts for those who don't eat animal products and Splenda Bundts for those with special dietary needs. Special occasion Bundt cakes include King Cakes for Mardi Gras parties, Whoopie/Moon Pies for late night cravings, and Bow-Wow Bundts for canine customers.
In addition to visiting Monica's Bundt Cake Co. at 1328 E. Douglas Ave. in the heart of the Douglas Design District, customers can now pick up a Monica's Bundt Cake at one of 18 Dillons stores throughout Wichita, Andover, Derby, Newton and Hutchinson.
