Kendall Wendt, the company's current owner, is the second generation of the second family to own Schammerhorn. Although the company sells and installs products across the United States, it's Wichita clients continue to show outstanding loyalty. "We have third generation customers that will come in and say, 'My grandmother used to do business with you.' It's a wonderful recommendation that we've styled windows for customers, and then for their children and even grandchildren," said longtime employee Carole Jones.

In addition to serving the obvious aesthetic purpose, many of the products offered by Schammerhorn can help shield home and commercial interiors from harmful UV rays and improve energy efficiency.

Schammerhorn also specializes in window treatment motorization. "Almost any treatment can now be automated, whether electrically or by battery," Jones added.

In addition to all of the homes worked in over the years, their products are found in many Wichita landmarks, including Exploration Place, the Wichita Art Museum and Koch Arena.

Offering in-house interior design service, Schammerhorn is a one-stop source for custom draperies, window treatments and bedding, incorporating luxury fabrics from industry leaders like Kasmir, Waverly and Robert Allen. Whether it's residential or commercial, service includes free consultation and measuring before providing the customer with an estimate.

"Everything we do is custom," said Jones.
